Product detailed description
This Tavkveri Shavkapito by Solomone Winery hails from the Chiatura appellation in Imereti, Georgia, featuring limestone soil. The wine is crafted from the Tavkveri Shavkapito variety, which is noteworthy as it is generally cultivated in the Kartli region.
The 2023 harvest produced a high-quality crop, largely due to a cool and moderate climate. In Imereti, grape varieties tend to ripen late, leading to medium to high acidity, a characteristic of Imeretian-style wines. These favorable climatic conditions resulted in excellent Tavkveri Shavkapito grapes with an essential balance of sugar and acidity. Furthermore, temperature differences contributed complex and additional terroir flavors, which are outstanding in the wine.
Tasting Notes: ruby colour, nose: pronounced aromas of chocolate, red wild forest berries, and black plums, complemented by a light aroma of paprika that adds extra elegance. Palate: Dry, with a light body, medium acidity, and a long finish.
