Kvevri červené víno - Saperavi Qvevri 2020 - Bruale
Product detailed description
The Bruale Saperavi 2020 is a Natural Dry Red wine from Kakheti, Georgia, produced by winemaker Zaza Mamulashvili. This Saperavi is cultivated in Bruale's vineyards within the Kvareli microzone of the Alazani valley. This prime location benefits from fertile alluvial soil, average humidity, mild winters, and long, warm summers, with an vineyard altitude of about 450 metres above sea level.
Crafted using the traditional Kakhetian Qvevri method, this Saperavi also involves aging in oak. After pressing, the grapes undergo fermentation in underground clay Qvevri for 3 months, maintaining contact with the skins, seeds, and stems. The wine is then transferred into another Qvevri for further aging underground at an optimum temperature of 12°C, with an additional oak aging step as noted in its method.
Made from 100% Saperavi, this dark ruby red wine presents a full-bodied structure and rounded tannins. It is rich and fresh on the palate, delivering flavours of forest fruit, pomegranate, dark plum, and blackcurrants. This Saperavi is best enjoyed at room temperature, paired with meats, especially game, and ripe cheese.
The winery's origins trace back to around 2010, when the founding Georgian-French partnership began. Located in Kakheti, Georgia, this Georgian-French venture blends traditional Qvevri winemaking techniques with classic methods, including oak barrel aging.
