Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane Reserve 2021 from the Gio's Marani winery is an exceptional Qvevri wine from Georgia, beautifully blending two traditional Georgian grape varieties—Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane. This wine is produced in the Kakheti region, an area renowned for its deep winemaking heritage.

The grapes were hand-harvested and subsequently fermented alongside their skins and stems in traditional clay vessels called Qvevri. This process lasts approximately three weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation. Afterward, the wine remains in the Qvevri on its skins for three months, which imparts its characteristic amber color and complex flavor profile.

The aroma is dominated by notes of dried apricots, yellow peaches, and melon, complemented by subtle spicy accents. On the palate, the wine is smooth and rich, featuring an elegant finish reminiscent of lemon pudding and long, silky tannins. With an alcohol content of 13%, this dry Qvevri amber (orange) wine pairs ideally with poultry dishes, white meat, pasta with creamy sauces, or cheeses.
