Product detailed description

Mtsvane from the Qvevri Wine Cellar winery is an exceptional Qvevri amber (orange) wine from Georgia, beautifully blending ancient winemaking traditions with a modern approach. This Georgian wine hails from the Kakheti region, specifically from the Qvevri Wine Cellar, and is crafted from 100% Mtsvane grapes. The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented alongside their skins, stems, and seeds in traditional clay vessels called Qvevri, where the wine matured for a period of 6 to 7 months. This method imparts the wine's characteristic amber color and its complex flavor profile.

The aroma is dominated by notes of dried fruit, particularly figs, complemented by subtle hints of spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious, featuring a well-balanced tannin structure and a long, rich finish.

Qvevri Wine Cellar, founded in 2015 by third-generation winemaker Ivane Nareklishvili, specializes in indigenous grape varieties and traditional Georgian winemaking methods. Combining a modern winemaking approach and strict quality control with minimal intervention, Nareklishvili is uniquely skilled at maximizing the potential of natural fermentation. By producing their wines from organic grapes in Qvevri, Nareklishvili achieves a clean, healthy fermentation that beautifully completes their "orange wines." A tasting at Qvevri Wine Cellar reveals the exceptionally high-quality wines that can be crafted using native yeasts and ancient winemaking practices—resulting in wines with a distinct presence and structure, ripe fruit notes, and a mineral expression unique to Georgia.
