Product detailed description
Saperavi 2021 from the Gio’s Marani winery is a dry Qvevri red wine crafted from the Saperavi grape variety, one of the most prominent and ancient Georgian varieties. The grapes hail from the Kakheti region, specifically from the Telavi area, which is renowned for its unique terroir.
The Gio’s Marani winery specializes in producing natural wines using traditional Georgian methods, including fermentation and aging in clay vessels called Qvevri. This ancient winemaking method, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, allows the wine to develop a complex flavor profile and natural stability.
Saperavi 2021 boasts a dark ruby color and offers a rich aroma of ripe cherries, plums, blackcurrant, and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, featuring a pleasant acidity and smooth tannins that contribute to a long and harmonious finish.
It is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature of 16–18°C and to decant it for half an hour before consumption. It pairs beautifully with red meat dishes, grilled specialties, or matured cheeses.
